Day 1: Muscat – Wadi Bani Khaled – Wahiba Sands
Depart from Muscat and travel through Ibra to Wadi Bani Khaled, one of Oman’s most beautiful natural oases. Surrounded by palm groves and rocky cliffs, the Wadi features turquoise pools fed by underground springs, ideal for a refreshing swim in a peaceful setting.
Continue into the Wahiba Sands, a vast desert of golden dunes stretching across the eastern region. Enjoy a 4x4 dune drive for a thrilling ride through the sands before arriving at the desert camp. Relax as the sun sets over the dunes, then enjoy dinner and overnight in a traditional tented camp.
Day 2: Wahiba Sands – Sur – Wadi Shab – Muscat
After breakfast, leave the desert and head to the coastal town of Sur, known for its maritime heritage. Visit the traditional dhow yard, where wooden boats are still built without nails using age-old techniques.
Nearby, stop at the Al Ayjah Lighthouse, offering scenic views of the Gulf of Oman.
Continue to Wadi Shab, one of Oman’s most popular Wadis. After a short hike through palm groves and rocky terrain, reach natural pools and waterfalls hidden deep in the mountains. Free time to swim, explore and enjoy the rugged landscape.
