Day 1: Muscat, Wahiba Sands, Sur
Depart from Muscat and head into the Wahiba Sands, a vast desert of golden dunes stretching across eastern Oman. Enjoy an exhilarating 4x4 dune drive through the rolling sands, followed by lunch at a traditional tented camp surrounded by silence and sky.
In the afternoon, continue to the coastal town of Sur, a historic port renowned for its traditional dhow shipbuilding. Check in to your hotel and relax.
In the evening, visit a sheltered beach area to observe green sea turtles. Depending on the season, from November to March, you may witness nesting activity under the stars, a rare and deeply moving experience. Overnight in Sur. (Meals included: B, L, -)
Day 2: Sur, Wadi Shab, Bimmah Sinkhole, Muscat
After breakfast, depart for Wadi Shab, one of Oman’s most renowned wadis. Nestled deep in the mountains, it features natural pools, waterfalls and shaded caves. A short hike through palm groves and rocky terrain leads to refreshing swimming spots surrounded by dramatic rock formations, a perfect escape into nature.
Continue to Bimmah Sinkhole, a natural depression filled with vivid turquoise water, surrounded by limestone cliffs. Ideal for photos and a quick dip in the cool, clear water. In the afternoon, return to Muscat. (Meals included: B, -, -)
