Itinerary

Day 1: Muscat, Bimmah, Wadi Shab, Sur, Turtle Watching

Depart along the scenic coastal road towards Sur, with a stop at Bimmah Sinkhole, a natural crater filled with vivid turquoise water. Surrounded by limestone cliffs, it’s a perfect spot for photos and a refreshing dip.

Continue to Wadi Shab, one of Oman’s most iconic wadis. After a short hike through palm groves and rock formations, reach crystal-clear pools ideal for a refreshing swim. For the adventurous, a swim through a hidden cave leads to a secluded waterfall, a magical highlight of the journey. Arrive in Sur, a historic port town known for its traditional dhow shipbuilding. In the evening, visit a protected beach to observe green sea turtles nesting. Depending on the season, from November to March, you may witness this rare and moving ritual. Overnight in hotel. (Meals included: B, L, -)

Day 2: Sur, Masirah Island

After breakfast, transfer to Shannah and board the ferry to Masirah Island, a remote oasis in the Arabian Sea. The island is one of the most important turtle nesting sites in the region and a haven for migratory birds, including ospreys and herons. Spend the day exploring endless sandy beaches, abandoned fishing villages and untouched landscapes shaped by wind and sea. Walk where wild horses roam freely and silence reigns. Overnight in hotel. (Meals included: B, L, -)

Day 3: Masirah Island, Wahiba Sands

After breakfast, return by ferry to the mainland. Then head into the heart of the Wahiba Sands, a vast desert of golden dunes stretching across the eastern region. Enter the dunes by 4x4, where waves of sand rise over 100 meters. As the sun sets, arrive at your desert camp, nestled among the dunes. You’ll be welcomed with traditional Omani coffee and dates. Enjoy a home-cooked dinner under a sky full of stars. Overnight in the desert camp. (Meals included: B, L, D)

Day 4: Wahiba Sands, Wadi Bani Khaled, Nizwa

Morning at leisure. Walk among the dunes or enjoy the peaceful desert sunrise. Depart for Wadi Bani Khaled, a lush oasis with turquoise pools surrounded by palms and rocky cliffs. A perfect spot to swim and relax in nature’s embrace.

Continue to Nizwa, the cultural heart of Oman. Known for its fort, souq and deep historical roots, it offers a quiet glimpse into traditional Omani life. Overnight in hotel at Nizwa. (Meals included: B, L, -)

Day 5: Nizwa, Al Hamra, Misfat Al Abriyeen, Jabal Shams, Nizwa

After breakfast, visit Al Hamra, a village where tradition lives on. Stop at Bait Al Safah, a restored mud house offering a glimpse into rural Omani life. Watch as women grind flour, prepare remedies and welcome guests with coffee and dates.

Proceed to Misfat Al Abriyeen, a stunning mountain village with ancient terraces, narrow alleys and stone houses built directly on solid rock. Walk through palm-lined paths and discover homes that have stood for centuries.

Ascend to Jabal Shams, Oman’s highest peak, and stand at the edge of the “Grand Canyon of Oman”, a breathtaking chasm carved by time and wind. Soak in panoramic views before beginning the descent. Return to Nizwa in the evening. Overnight in hotel at Nizwa.

(Meals included: B, L, -)

Day 6: Nizwa, Bahla, Jabreen, Muscat

After breakfast, visit Nizwa Fort, with its iconic round tower, and explore the lively souq, famous for handmade khanjars, silver jewellery and crafts. Stop at Bahla Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage site, surrounded by 12 km of ancient mud walls, a powerful symbol of early Omani engineering.

Continue to Jabreen Castle, one of Oman’s most beautiful forts, renowned for its painted ceilings, ornate stucco work and intricately carved wooden grilles. Once used as a centre of Islamic learning, it blends elegance with intellect.

In the afternoon, return to Muscat. (Meals included: B, - , -)

Details

This is not a typical tour. It’s a journey into the unexpected.

Where sea turtles lay their eggs under moonlight. Where golden dunes stretch endlessly into the horizon. Where hidden mountain oases sparkle in the sun. And where ancient mud-brick villages cling to cliffs like eagles’ nests.

In six days, you’ll discover three faces of Oman. The wild coast of the Arabian Sea. The silent beauty of the desert. The cultural soul of forts, souqs and mountain trails.

Designed for travellers who seek authenticity over spectacle. For those who want to swim in turquoise pools, walk through centuries-old villages and sleep under a sky full of stars.
