Day 1: Muscat, Barka Fish Market, Wadi Bani Awf, Nizwa
Depart from Muscat and head to Barka, where you’ll visit the local fish market. Watch as fishermen bring in their daily catch, including tuna, kingfish and prawns, and sell it in a lively, authentic setting.
From here, begin the off-road crossing of Wadi Bani Awf, one of the most dramatic mountain routes in Oman. The road winds through rugged terrain, steep cliffs and traditional villages, offering breathtaking views at every turn.
Continue to Nizwa, the cultural heart of Oman. Check in to your hotel and relax. Overnight in Nizwa.
Day 2: Nizwa, Bahla, Jabreen, Wahiba Sands
After breakfast, visit Nizwa Fort, with its impressive 35-metre cylindrical tower, followed by time in the souq, renowned for handmade silver jewellery and traditional khanjars.
Stop at Bahla Fort, an ancient mud-brick fortress surrounded by 12 km of walls, a UNESCO World Heritage site and a powerful symbol of Oman’s architectural heritage.
Continue to Jabreen Castle, considered one of the most beautiful forts in the country. Built in 1675, it features painted ceilings, ornate stucco work and intricately carved wooden grilles.
Proceed into the Wahiba Sands, a vast desert of golden dunes stretching across the eastern region. Arrive at the camp in the late afternoon. Enjoy traditional Omani coffee and dinner under the stars. Overnight in the desert camp.
Day 3: Wahiba Sands, Wadi Bani Khaled, Muscat
After breakfast, depart for Wadi Bani Khaled, a lush oasis surrounded by palm groves and rocky cliffs. The wadi features natural turquoise pools fed by underground springs, ideal for a refreshing swim in a peaceful setting.
Spend time relaxing and enjoying the greenery before beginning the return journey to Muscat.
