Experience the contrasting landscapes and heritage of northern Oman on a journey combining mountain roads, traditional villages, historic forts and desert scenery.
Begin at Barka Fish Market, where local fishermen bring in their daily catch, before heading into the Hajar Mountains on a 4x4 crossing of Wadi Bani Awf, passing remote villages and dramatic mountain landscapes.
Continue to Nizwa, Bahla and Jabrin, exploring some of Oman's most important historic landmarks before heading into the vast dunes of Wahiba Sands, where you spend the night at a desert camp.
The final day combines the desert with the lush landscapes of Wadi Bani Khaled, known for its natural pools and greenery, before returning to Muscat.

DAY 1 · MUSCAT – BARKA FISH MARKET – WADI BANI AWF – NIZWA
Depart from Muscat towards Barka Fish Market, where you can observe local fishermen bringing in and selling their daily catch, including tuna, prawns, kingfish and other varieties.
Continue towards the Hajar Mountains and begin the 4x4 off-road crossing of Wadi Bani Awf, a spectacular mountain route surrounded by rugged scenery and small traditional villages.
Continue to Nizwa.
Overnight in Nizwa.
DAY 2 · NIZWA – BAHLA – JABRIN – WAHIBA SANDS
After breakfast, visit Nizwa Fort, dominated by its impressive watchtower, followed by the traditional Nizwa Souq, known for its handicrafts and silver jewellery.
Continue to Bahla for a photo stop at the historic Bahla Fort, then proceed to Jabrin Castle, renowned for its richly decorated interiors and traditional Omani architecture.
Continue towards Wahiba Sands, entering the vast desert landscape of golden dunes.
Overnight at a desert camp.
DAY 3 · WAHIBA SANDS – WADI BANI KHALED – MUSCAT
After breakfast at the camp, depart for Wadi Bani Khaled, one of Oman's most scenic wadis, known for its natural pools, clear water and lush surroundings.
Enjoy time in the wadi before beginning the return journey to Muscat.
