Day 1: Muscat – Barka Fish Market – Al Hazm Fort – Rustaq Fort – Mussanah
Depart from Muscat and head to Barka, where you’ll visit the local fish market. Watch as fishermen bring in their daily catch, tuna, kingfish, prawns and more, and sell it in a lively, authentic setting.
Continue to Al Hazm Fort, one of the most distinctive forts in Oman. Built in the early 18th century, it stands out for its unique architecture: no wooden ceiling beams, with roofs supported by stone columns, a rare feature in Omani fortifications.
Next, visit Rustaq Fort, one of the oldest and largest forts in the country, with origins dating back over 4,000 years, long before the arrival of Islam. Perched on a rocky outcrop, it offers panoramic views of the surrounding oasis and mountains.
In the late afternoon, transfer to Mussanah Hotel for overnight.
Day 2: Mussanah – Wadi Sahtan – Muscat
After breakfast, embark on an off-road journey to Wadi Sahtan, a remote Wadi surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery. The route takes you through rugged terrain and traditional villages, offering stunning views of terraced cliffs and deep gorges.
Spend time exploring the Wadi and enjoying the natural beauty of this secluded valley.
In the afternoon, return to Muscat.
