This is an extraordinary example of the relationship between man and nature, which has ensured the survival of agricultural communities for centuries. Here, you will have the chance to walk among ancient houses and experience a quiet, authentic atmosphere.
Continue to Nizwa, the former cultural capital of Oman. Visit the famous Nizwa Fort, one of the most imposing in the country, with its 35-meter-high cylindrical tower and frescoes that tell stories of battles and trade. Later, explore the lively Nizwa Souq, where you can admire local handicrafts, silver jewellery, and the traditional Khanjar, the dagger symbol of Omani identity.
In the morning, head to Bahla, renowned for its impressive fortress, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Bahla Fort, built entirely from mud bricks, is surrounded by walls stretching over 12 km. In the surrounding area, you’ll be able to visit local workshops where potters craft ceramics using techniques passed down through generations.
Arrival at Jabreen Castle, one of the most beautiful castles in Oman. Inside, intricately carved wooden ceilings, stucco decorations, and Islamic architectural details reflect the artistic richness of the past. The building is considered one of the finest examples of traditional Omani residential architecture.
The final stop of the day is Tanuf, a historic village with ruins of a settlement destroyed during tribal conflicts in the 20th century. Nearby lies the modern Tanuf Dam, a symbol of the country’s sustainable development. Return to Nizwa for dinner and overnight stay.

From there, proceed to Wahiba Sands, an endless sea of red dunes stretching as far as the eye can see. This desert landscape offers infinite shades of red, white, and orange, creating a surreal and immersive environment. Continue to Ras Al Hadd, where you will check in at the hotel and have some free time to rest.
In the evening, head to the Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve, one of the most important sea turtle nesting sites in the world. Continue to Dibab, where you’ll visit the famous Bait Al Afreet Sinkhole, also known as the “Demon’s House.” This natural cave is surrounded by rocky walls and filled with deep, crystal-clear water, accessible via concrete steps. A refreshing and unforgettable stop.
Along the way to Quriyat, make a short stop at a strategic point: here, a small island rises, crowned by a 16th-century Portuguese watchtower. It is reachable on foot during low tide. Nearby, a sheltered inlet is lined with a dense mangrove forest, a perfect habitat for migratory birds and marine life.
Arrival in Muscat is expected in the late afternoon. Free time for relaxation or shopping in the local markets. Dinner at the hotel followed by overnight stay. (Meals included: B / - / D)
Day 6: Muscat
The day begins with a visit to the heart of Muscat, exploring some of the most iconic symbols of Oman’s cultural and architectural richness.
The first stop is the magnificent Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, one of the largest religious sites in the world and a symbol of Omani architectural splendour. You will be captivated by its grandeur and artisan details, inside, you’ll find the famous Swarovski crystal chandelier, the second-largest in the world, and a handwoven Persian carpet that covers the entire main prayer hall. A masterpiece of patience and craftsmanship.
Next, continue to the lively Muttrah Souq, the oldest and largest market in Oman. Lose yourself in its narrow, incense- and sandalwood-scented alleys, where you can discover silver jewellery, handcrafted ceramics, aromatic spices, and the traditional Khanjar, the dagger symbolizing Omani identity.
The visit continues with a stop at Al Alam Palace, the Sultan’s ceremonial palace. Nestled between the turquoise waters of the Gulf of Oman, it is flanked by the historic Portuguese forts Al Jalali and Al Mirani, which speak of the country’s long maritime history. Although not open to the public, the palace impresses with its exterior, blending modern elegance with historical roots.
The day ends with a visit to the Bait Al Zubair Museum, a true window into Oman’s past. The collection includes antique weapons, traditional costumes, household objects, and historical documents, all housed in a carefully restored traditional Omani home.
