SALALAH CITY TOUR
(HALF DAY)
Tour description
First stop at the ‘Museum of the Land of Frankincense’. Opened in 2007 at the Al Baleed Archaeological Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the museum houses two main halls: The History Hall, which illustrates the geography, the history of the Ancient Frankincense Route and the historical context of the Sultanate through a series of archaeological artefacts, and the Maritime Hall, which presents exhibits on the development of Oman’s rich maritime history.
Cross the lush green plantations of vegetables and fruit. Take a brief stop for a refreshing drink of coconut water (at your own expense) before arriving at the imposing Sultan Qaboos Mosque.
Admire the Sultan Palace (Al Husn Palace) and stroll through the Old Souq of Haffah, attractive with its small shops and famous for selling high-quality incense and numerous other traditional Dhofari souvenirs. Drive back to the hotel at the end of the tour.
