Day 1: Muscat
Arrival to Muscat, transfer to the hotel for check in. The rest of the day is at leisure to visit Muscat, the oldest city on the Arabian Peninsula, capital of the sultanate and a fascinating mix of modernity and tradition. Dinner at leisure and overnight.
Day 2: Muscat
Breakfast at the hotel and departure for a guided tour of the city. We begin with a visit to the Great Mosque of Sultan Qaboos, a true architectural masterpiece. We continue to Al- Alam Palace, the Sultan’s residence, to photograph only the exterior of the palace and the two forts Mirani and Jalali. We continue through the old town with a stop to visit the Bait Al Zubair before arriving at Muttrah, a fishing port and an important center of local trade. Time at leisure to visit the souk on your own. Lunch in a local restaurant, return to the hotel and free time. free time. In the afternoon, transfer (without guide) to the port for a sunset boat tour along the coast of Muscat. Afterwards return to the hotel and overnight.
Day 3: Muscat – Wadi Bani Khalid – Wahiba Sands
Breakfast at the hotel and departure for the Wahiba Sands. On the way, a panoramic tour of the embassy and ministry quarter of Muscat and a stop at the ‘Amouage’ perfume factory to discover the secrets of these mythical fragrances. We continue on to Wadi Bani Khalid, one of the most beautiful oases in the country, where we have the opportunity to bathe in the warm turquoise waters. Packed lunch and departure for the Wahiba Sands, a vast expanse of orange-colored dunes. Along the way there are photo stops to discover quaint villages where time seems to stand still. Upon arrival at the tented camp, you will be greeted by Bedouins with Omani coffee and dates. Dinner and overnight at the tented camp.
The arrival at the beach is always a magical moment. For this evening, your guide will help you set up your tented camp. Dinner under the stars will be unforgettable. Overnight stay in a tent. (please note: there are no toilet facilities)
Day 4: Wahiba Sands – Sinaw – Jabrin – Bahla – Nizwa
Early in the morning you will witness the sunrise over the dunes. Breakfast at the camp and depart for Nizwa. En route, you will make a stop in Sinaw, where you will visit the old village and the local souk, a stop in Jabrin to visit the castle famous for its arabesque-decorated ceilings and grills, its stucco and wooden doors and windows. Photo stop at the pre-Islamic fort of Balah, a UNESCO heritage site. Lunch in a local restaurant and on to Nizwa. On arrival, stroll through the souk famous for its ceramic and silver handicrafts. Overnight stay in a hotel.
Day 5: Nizwa – Wahiba
Breakfast at the hotel and visit Nizwa, in particular the Fort and the Watchtower. You will also be lucky enough to witness the characteristic Friday cattle market, a unique experience. Continue on to Al Hamra, where you will enjoy splendid views of the region and palm groves. In Bait Al Safah you will visit a traditional house. In a 4×4 you will continue on to Misfat, a small wonder perched on the edge of the canyon. Here you will stroll through its narrow streets with mud walls. You will then continue on to Jebel Shams for a visit to the Grand Canyon of Oman. Lunch in a local restaurant and departure for Muscat. On arrival, accommodation and overnight.
Day 6: Muscat – Barkha – Ain Thowara – Al Hazm – Muscat
Breakfast at the hotel and continuation of sightseeing. You will reach the Barkha fish market, a traditional local fish market located in the town of the same name, where you will witness the characteristic haggling for the sale and purchase of fish.
You will then continue on to the hot spring of Ain Thowara, located amidst date crops at the foot of the Hajjar Mountains. The trip will end with a visit to Al Hazm Fort, one of the most beautiful in Oman. Return to Muscat and transfer to the airport and departure on a scheduled flight back home.
